Title: Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer

Type: Contract to Hire

Location: Vancouver, WA

Hourly Rate: $50 to $65 per hour

Position Overview

This role involves designing, developing, and managing data solutions within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of data systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and document data solutions within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Develop ETL processes to integrate data from various sources.
  • Optimize data models and databases for performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and other stakeholders to meet data needs.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Monitor and maintain data systems, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.
  • Train and develop the current data team for a technical handoff at the end of the contract.

Required Tools and Technologies

The ideal candidate should be proficient in the following:

  • Microsoft Azure: Experience with Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Database.
  • ETL Tools: Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Notebooks within the Fabric ecosystem.
  • Programming Languages: Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, and PySpark for data manipulation and integration.
  • Data Governance: Implementation of best practices to ensure data quality and compliance.
  • Technical Writing: Ability to document processes, best practices, and solutions.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working within Microsoft Fabric and Medallion architecture.
  • Advanced certifications in Microsoft Fabric or related technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central.
